Year 13 Celebrate an Excellent set of A Level Results!

High achievers A Level 18

Year 13

Congratulations to our Year 13, who have achieved an excellent set of A level results; following on from our best ever in 2017.

• 18% of all A Levels were graded A* or A equivalent; the gold standard A* grade was achieved by students in nine subjects, but a special mention must go to our Mathematics students who achieved 7 A*s in Mathematics & 3 A*s in Further Mathematics.

 • 62% of all Vocational L3 qualifications were graded Distinction* or Distinction. (Including 100% of Engineering grades awarded Distinction or better.)

• 46% of all L3 courses were graded A*- B equivalent.

• 99% of all A Level entries were graded A*-E.

• 47 students completed the Extended Project Qualification at Level 3, including 4 year 11 students. 31 of these entries were graded A*/A. The EPQ qualification is considered excellent preparation for undergraduate study [requiring in depth research, analysis and presentation of results on a topic of their choice].

It is always difficult to single out individual achievements, but the following students have succeeded in gaining quite remarkable results:

We wish all students continued success as they enter the next phase of their studies, be it within our Sixth Form, with another local FE provider or indeed as part of their first employment.  With hard work and determination there is no limit to what they can achieve; we wish them all the very best.

GCSE Results 2018

Brilliant Year 11 Produce Outstanding Results

 GCSE 2018 Main Picture

Students and staff at the Billericay School are reveling in the success of Year 11 receiving their GCSE results today. With new, more challenging exams in place for the majority of subjects and dip in pass rates nationally, Billericay has turned the tide and seen results improve in all areas. Nationally only 3% of students were awarded the new Gold Standard (Higher than the old A*) an Incredible 14 students (5.3%) achieved this in Mathematics alone. In all, 26 different students achieved at least one grade 9. A quite incredible achievement, well done to them. English results improved to 85% 9-4, Maths to 80% 9-4. See twitter for further live updates.

Congratulations to all on their results and on gaining places in the Sixth Form, on college courses and apprenticeships.

We are extremely proud to announce an outstanding set of A level exam results from our Sixth Form students. As the number of top grades awarded fell nationally, the number of A* and A grades achieved by our students rose again. 16 students achieved at least one ‘Gold Standard’ A* grade, with Lauren Slade achieving 4 A*s, Becky Leverett achieving 3 A*s and Alex Becalick achieving 2 A*s.

Our students following vocational courses also achieved outstanding results, with 87% of all BTEC Level 3 grades being either Distinction* or Distinction (equivalent to A* and A at A level).
