February 2026 Newsletter
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
I hope you enjoy reading this edition of our newsletter and celebrating the many events and achievements that have already taken place this term. Although this half term is a short one, it has certainly been a busy and productive start to the new year.
January has seen a wide range of trips, visits and enrichment opportunities across the school, alongside our Year 11 and Year 13 students completing their PPE assessments. These mock examinations are an important milestone, giving students valuable experience and helping staff to identify precise areas for development as we move towards the summer examination series. I would like to thank our students for their maturity and focus during this period, and our staff for the time and care taken to provide detailed feedback to support progress. We are excited to see what our Year 11 and Year 13 students go on to achieve this summer and are extremely confident that, with continued focus and determination, they will realise their ambitions.
You will also have received Rebecca Hickey’s recent letter regarding our merger with The Harris Federation. This is an important and positive step for our school, and we are very much looking forward to working collaboratively as part of the federation to strengthen our provision and improve our school even further. Partnership working brings valuable opportunities to share expertise, develop staff, and enhance the experience of our students, and we are excited about the journey ahead.
Alongside changes to our uniform, as part of this next chapter, our Year 9 artists have been working alongside digital branding agencies in the creation of our new logo. It has been fantastic to see their creativity and professionalism throughout this process, and we are very much looking forward to seeing the final outcome. It is fitting that our students are playing such an active role in shaping the visual identity of our school’s future.
As we approach the half term break, some of our students will be taking part in the annual Ski Trip. This is always a highlight of the school calendar and a wonderful opportunity for students to challenge themselves and build lasting memories. For families involved, please remember that departure and arrival times are approximate and dependent on travel and weather conditions. Any updates will be communicated via our social media channels and website.
I would like to wish all members of our school community a restful and well-deserved break. We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday 23 February 2026 (Week A) for what promises to be another purposeful and successful half term.
